Graham, Schweitzer Win 2017/2018 National Doubles Trophy

Gregor Graham and Claude Schweitzer won the 2017/2018 Luxembourg Curling National Doubles Championship. The finals took place this past weekend in the Kockelscheuer Ice Arena between three teams in a double round-robin competition where Graham and Schweitzer gave no ground and won all four matches.

Graham/Schweitzer vs. Husi/Benoy: 8-4 and 7-4
Graham/Schweitzer vs. Wauters/Etienne: 13-1 and 7-4

The vice-champion title went to Karen Wauters and Marco Etienne, who defeated Marc Husi and Alex Benoy 7-2 and 12-4

While the end results mazy not show it all teams were very competitive and every match hung in balance until the very end. Participants agreed the curling played was at a high European level. This included the ice conditions and especially the ambiance between the opponents.

The next possibility to see the best Luxembourg curlers in a tournament at Kockelscheuer is 11 and 12 March when Curling Club Luxembourg organizes its International Doubles tournament.

If you would like to try the wonderful game of curling or would simply like to have a look, visit us on Monday and Wednesday evenings at Kockelsceuer Ice Arena.
